چکیده

The goal of the present research is to identify the relationship between cultural capital and spirituality among students of Islamic Azad University, Islamshahr Branch. The research is applied regarding goal and it is correlation type considering the strategy used and it has been done as a field study. The statistical population includes all athlete students of Islamic Azad University, Islamshahr Branch, through which there are 1047 men and 402 women who were engaged in studying in Islamic Azad University, Islamshahr Branch during the school year 2004-2005. To determine sample we have used kerjesi-Morgan table. The amount of the statistical sample in the present research includes 281 male and 197 female students studying physical education in Islamic Azad University, Islamshahr Branch (total number of the sample for both groups is 478). Random-class sampling method has been used. Results of the research showed that: there has been a direct and meaningful relationship between cultural capital and spirituality among students of Islamic Azad University, Islamshahr Branch. Also, there has been a direct and meaningful relationship between bodily (realized), objective, and symbolized cultural capital and students’ spirituality. It should be noted that cultural capita and its elements are considered as an appropriate predictor of students’ spirituality (α-0.01).
